Poverty in Cleveland
Poverty was a major social problem in Cleveland during the postwar period. Given that white, Black, and Puerto Rican Clevelanders suffered severe economic hardship, poverty was distributed throughout the city. The worst impoverished neighborhoods, though, were Black residential zones.
